In Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, a man consumed poison in front of his wife at the Chandla police station. As his condition worsened and he began vomiting, police took him to hospital by vehicle, but he died in his wife’s lap. SP Agam Jain has suspended Chandla TI Sandeep Dixit. According to information, the deceased Ram Vishal Ahirwar (22), a resident of Naharpur, had been called to the police station after a dispute with his wife, where he consumed poison. He had been married two years ago in Bithora village and has a three-month-old child. Police beat son to death The deceased’s mother, Muliya Ahirwar, alleged that her son was beaten inside the police station. She claimed he was thrashed with a belt and that his screams were heard inside the station. She said she pleaded with police not to beat him, but was forced away. She alleged that police beat her son to death. Mother said – Don’t know what he ate Muliya Ahirwar said this was her son’s second marriage and that he occasionally had disputes due to alcohol consumption. She said the daughter-in-law would often go to her parental home due to these issues, leading to frequent arguments. Mother said – If you had given water and made him vomit, he would have survived The mother told police that her son kept asking for water throughout the journey, but he was not given any. She said if he had been given water and made to vomit, he could have survived. SDOP Naveen Dubey explained to her that water is not given in poisoning cases. Wife said – We were talking, he started vomiting The wife, Leela, said she was not living in her marital home and had come to the police station for reconciliation after being called by police along with her mother at around 11:30 am. Her husband also arrived with his family.
She said they were asked to talk inside the police station. Husband was vomiting at the police station During the conversation, he suddenly started vomiting. Police checked and found half a dose of medicine in his pocket. She said she did not know what it was. He was immediately taken to Chandla hospital, from where he was referred to Chhatarpur district hospital. At the district hospital, doctors declared him dead. She said he was lying in her lap and repeatedly asking for water. She later felt dizzy and does not remember what happened. Husband used to beat me after drinking alcohol Leela said her husband used to beat her after consuming alcohol and had even sold land and other belongings, which led to frequent disputes. She said she had returned to her parental home two months ago and had not been in contact since. She said they were called to the police station and stayed there for about an hour, and she does not know when he consumed poison. Station In-charge Suspended for Negligence SP Agam Jain said the case involved a husband-wife dispute at Chandla police station. The husband had filed a complaint after his wife did not return home, following which both families were called to the police station on Friday. He said that prima facie negligence was found and the Chandla station in-charge has been suspended with immediate effect. A judicial inquiry will be conducted. The families have demanded a fair investigation and strict action against those responsible. Police officers including City Kotwali police, Lavkushnagar SDOP, ASP Aditya Patle, and SP Agam Jain reached the district hospital to review the situation.
