A three-year-old child fell into a borewell near Jhalaria village, close to Badnagar, about 75 km from Ujjain around 8:00 pm on Thursday. The child is trapped at an approximate depth of 70 feet. Following the information, the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and rescue teams reached the spot and are carrying out relief and rescue operations. A camera has been lowered into the borewell to continuously monitor the child, while efforts are being made to establish contact. Local villagers are also assisting in the rescue operation. Ujjain Collector Roshan Singh and SP Pradeep Sharma have also set out for the site. Administrative officials and Badnagar police are present at the location. According to the Collector, the child is Bhagirath (3), son of Praveen Devasi, resident of Gudanala in Pali district, Rajasthan. The family had been in the area for the past three days to graze their sheep. While playing, the child fell into an open borewell located on Paldoona Road.
