A foetal sex determination racket operating from a hut near a canal in Hadwasi village of Bagchini area (Morena) has been busted. Suspicion arose after frequent movement of women; a villager recorded a video and locked the hut from outside. However, the main accused and six women escaped in a Maruti van after removing the thatched roof. Villagers later caught the van driver and handed him over to the police. Police have registered a case against the main accused, the driver, and another person. A search is on to trace the absconding accused. Suspicion arose due to repeated movement of women in the van Vikas Sharma became suspicious when he noticed women repeatedly coming and going from a van near the canal in Hadwasi village. He started recording a video and approached the van, entering a hut. Inside, suspended peon Sanjay Pachauri was conducting foetal sex determination tests. 6 women were sitting inside. The youth latched the door from outside and went to the village for help. Meanwhile, with the driver’s help, the accused removed the grass from the hut and escaped. Later, villagers chased the van and caught driver Rakesh Prajapati and handed him over to the Civil Line police. According to Bagchini police station in-charge Shashi Kumar, “In this case, a zero FIR has been registered at Civil Line police station, and the diary has been sent to Bagchini police station. Because the incident site falls under the Bagchini police station area. He has been arrested three times before in this racket. He had recently been released after serving 6 months in jail and got involved in the same work again. According to van driver Rakesh Prajapati, “Sanjay Pachauri had rented his vehicle for ₹800 per day. He used to pick up and drop women from designated locations.
