Former Chief Minister Uma Bharti set up a handcart on the roadside and sold poha-jalebi in Tikamgarh on Tuesday (April 7) morning. She called back the small shopkeepers who had been removed a day earlier to set up their carts again. She appealed to the administration not to snatch away the livelihood of the poor. Actually, on Monday, a team from the municipal corporation, SDM, and the tehsildar had conducted an anti-encroachment drive on Civil Line Road. During this, several small shops and handcarts were removed with a JCB. Uma Bharti had opposed this action and called the removal of small shopkeepers wrong. Regarding this, on Tuesday morning, she came out of her bungalow located on Civil Line Road and reached the handcart. Here, she supported the shopkeepers by selling poha-jalebi herself. She asked the handcart vendors to set up their carts on the roadside again. See pictures of Uma’s different style Uma says, ‘Administration should first provide space for shops, then remove them’ Uma Bharti said that the councilors had first asked to mark the locations. Three-four locations were also suggested. The administration should first provide space for shops, then remove them. She appealed to the removed shopkeepers to come back and set up shops here. Their carts will not be removed from here. Uma Bharti was asked if she had spoken to the administration. She said that I just came to know about this. I will talk to the administration now. All carts will be set up here again.
