In Madhya Pradesh Crime Files today, the story of a case from Chhatarpur is discussed that had shocked the entire area. It is said that not every love story reaches its destination; some perish along the way and leave behind such a truth that makes the soul shudder. This story from Chhatarpur is also similar, where an innocent love story took a horrifying turn. Two decomposed bodies found in the forest had stunned everyone. The corpses had turned into skeletons. A bottle of poison was found nearby, which initially made the case appear to be a suicide. As the police investigation progressed, many shocking aspects began to emerge. Read Crime Files Part-1… It was the morning of August 25, 2017. The forest of Jhanjhan Devi in Chhatarpur was usually deserted on normal days, but that day, there was a crowd. The scene before them was extremely horrifying.
Two corpses had completely decomposed and turned into skeletons. Bones were scattered all around the skull, hands, feet, ribs, and pieces of the spine lay separately. This sight was enough to shake anyone to their core. Identification made from clothes, sandals and bag Based on the sandals, bag and clothes found at the spot, uncle Suresh (name changed) identified his niece Sakshi (name changed), and Omprakash Pathak identified his son Monu. Both left home, never returned On the morning of August 11, 2017, around 11 AM, Sakshi left for college. She was a BSc final year student and was living at her uncle’s house in the city to pursue her studies. When she didn’t return home by 6 PM, the family’s concern grew. A search began, but no clues were found. Meanwhile, Monu had also left home that same day and didn’t return by late evening. Both families knew each other and had regular interactions. The families’ suspicion deepened that perhaps the two had eloped together. Last seen on August 12 On August 13, Rajkumar, a young man from the same village, called Sakshi’s father and informed him that on August 12, when he was going to Chhatarpur College, he had seen both of them filling water at a hand pump near Jhanjhan Devi temple on the way. After returning from college, when he came to know that both were missing, he provided this information. Even after this last clue, no trace of them was found. A phone call after 14 days changed everything Till now, the family members had assumed that both had eloped together and would return in a few days. On August 25, 2017, a phone call changed everything. Information was received about two bodies being found in a deserted hilly area under the jurisdiction of the Orchha Road police station. Family members reached the spot, and what they saw shook the ground beneath their feet. The bodies were completely decomposed. Both were identified based on clothes, sandals, a bag and a bracelet. Evidence from the scene gave the story a new turn The evidence found at the scene was telling a different story. Police found two vials, two used condoms, empty water bottles and several pouches from there. A strong smell like sulphur was coming from the vials. There were also foam marks on the ground. Additionally, both their mobiles and the young man’s wallet, along with other belongings, were missing. All this was indicating that the matter might not be just suicide. Suspicion of robbery, rape and murder Used condoms, missing belongings and other circumstances were pointing towards the presence of more than one person in the robbery and incident. Many questions still remain- The answers to these questions will be revealed tomorrow in Crime Files Part-2
