Three minor friends drowned in a dam in Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday afternoon. The three had gone to the dam for fun, but within moments were pulled into deeper waters. The incident took place in the Nai Sarai police station area. According to information, the deceased have been identified as Mayank (16), son of Avdhesh Raghuvanshi, Dev (16), son of Rakesh Raghuvanshi, and Om (15), son of Satish Raghuvanshi. All three were residents of Ajleshwar village. 6 friends had gone to bathe, 3 of them drowned Family members said that six boys had gone to bathe in the nearby dam, as they did regularly. Initially, all were bathing, but after some time, three of them slowly moved towards deeper water. It is reported that the three did not know how to swim. As the depth suddenly increased, they lost balance and began to drown. Their friends tried to rescue them, but due to the depth, they got scared and came out of the water. In no time, villagers gathered at the spot. The villagers started searching on their own, but due to the depth of water and limited resources, they could not succeed. SDRF team conducted rescue operation Police were then informed. Nai Sarai police reached the spot and assessed the situation. Considering the seriousness, the SDRF team was called. The team arrived shortly after and began a rescue operation. After considerable effort, the team recovered the bodies of all three teenagers from the dam. The incident cast a pall of grief over the village, with family members inconsolable. Police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and started an investigation.
