Cheetah KGP-1, which had moved out of Kuno National Park, has reached the forests of the Ghatigaon region in Gwalior district after nearly 25 days. The development was confirmed on Wednesday, prompting both the Gwalior Forest Department and Kuno teams to become active. Continuous monitoring of the cheetah is underway to prevent any untoward incidents. Returned to Kuno on March 5, stayed for eight days The cheetah had earlier spent nearly three months in the Gwalior forest division. Around March 1, it moved out of the Gwalior boundary and entered the Kuno area on March 5. After spending approximately eight days in the forests of Kuno, it exited again around March 13. Since then, it has been on the move and has now reached the forests of Aron in Ghatigaon via Shivpuri. Currently moving in Aron forests The Cheetah is fitted with a radio collar, enabling the Kuno team to track its location in real time. Forest officials stated that a special antenna is being used to monitor its movements and activities closely. At present, the cheetah is actively moving within the Aron forest area. Eight-member team deployed for monitoring Following its arrival in the Aron region of Ghatigaon, forest authorities immediately intensified surveillance. A team of eight members—four from the Gwalior Forest Department and four from Kuno—has been deployed to monitor the cheetah. They are keeping a constant watch on its movement. Additionally, residents living near the forest areas have been alerted to remain cautious to avoid any potential incidents.
