An unusual trap operation against corruption came to light on Monday morning in Bahoribandh police station area of Katni, Madhya Pradesh. Trainee DSP Shiva Pathak and SDOP Akanksha Chaturvedi traveled on a tractor disguised as labourers and caught a police constable red-handed while collecting illegal money. Actually, the SP was continuously receiving complaints that illegal collection was being done from vehicle drivers, especially farmers and tractor drivers in Bahoribandh police station area. After this, as part of the strategy, both women officers wore plain clothes around 5 am and sat with laborers on a tractor. Caught red-handed while taking bribe money Near Slimanabad turn, constable Lakshman Patel, who was deployed on the police mobile vehicle, stopped the tractor and demanded Rs 500. As soon as the constable took the money, the women officers present on the tractor immediately caught him. The entire operation was video recorded, which was later handed over to senior officials. Action taken against Constable and TI After the investigation, SP Abhinay Vishwakarma immediately suspended the constable. Additionally, Station In-charge Akhilesh Dahiya was removed from his post on charges of negligence and illegal collection. Currently, the responsibility of the police station has been handed over to TIC Dhananjay Pandey. The station in-charge has previously faced controversy allegations, including discussions related to gambling dens and wildlife meat cases.
