The entire district administration will now function from a single campus in Bhopal. Under the redevelopment plan, the way has been cleared to demolish the existing Collectorate, Commissioner’s office and IG office and construct a new seven-storey administrative complex. The project is proposed on 4.10 hectares of land at the old Secretariat site, with an estimated cost of ₹283 crore. The complex will include parking facilities for 112 ECS stilt parking, 345 ECS multi-level parking, and 162 two-wheelers. Offices of multiple departments to be operative from one premises, the general public will no longer need to visit different offices. The building has been designed with modern facilities and smart administrative requirements in mind. In the first phase, old buildings, including the Collectorate, archives, advocate hall, post office, agriculture department, and women and child development offices, will be removed. After this, construction of the modern seven-storey complex will begin. The land of the three existing campuses, measuring 33,600 square metres, has been valued at ₹256.92 crore. Floor-wise plan Ground floor: One end will house SDM Bairagarh and a bank, while the other will have SDM City and the IG office entry. Parking will be in the middle, with a central public entry point. 1st floor: SDM Bairagarh, SDM City, licence cell, ADM wing, Collectorate dispatch cell, public hearing (jansunwai), public grievance, public service centre, Assistant Registrar (Firms and Society), and cyber cell technical branch. 2nd floor: Collector and the NIC office on one side; cyber cell and the IG-DIG office on the other. The middle section will have the ADM wing, Food Controller, and Director of Agriculture. 3rd floor: One end will accommodate the India and State Election offices, while the other will have the cyber cell and IG-DIG offices. The middle will include the ADM wing, gas relief, Food Controller, ration card section, and joint and deputy commissioners of the Divisional Commissioner’s office (Cooperation). 4th floor: DUDA and ATMA on one end, IG Rural office on the other. It will also house the agriculture department, Assistant Commissioner (SC/ST), Assistant Director (OBC), minerals department, and the Nazrat section of the Divisional Commissioner, Bhopal. 5th floor: Women and Child Development Department on one side, IG Rural office on the other. The centre will include the Collectorate’s e-governance society, CEO Antyavyavasayi, and PRO of the Divisional Commissioner’s office. 6th Floor: A common meeting hall on one end and the Revenue Board on the other. The middle will include the land revenue record section of the Collectorate, State Archives, along with a recreation area. 7th floor: Resource and management sections, along with five storage rooms. Traffic and access plan With these arrangements, officials and citizens visiting the complex are not expected to face parking or traffic congestion issues.
