These are the words of a young woman who died by suicide after allegedly being betrayed in love. Before taking the step, the woman reportedly took photos with a noose around her neck and sent them one by one to the man. In fact, the 24-year-old woman from Dhar died by suicide by hanging at her home on Tuesday. After receiving information, Kotwali police reached the spot. The police recovered a few pages of a suicide note and the woman’s mobile phone from the scene. The phone contained a long WhatsApp chat with a man, call details and some photos. In the chat, the man is also seen abusing the woman. During investigation, it emerged that the woman had been in a relationship with the man for four to five years. Gradually their friendship grew and later turned into love. In the relationship that began nearly five years ago, Mahesh had assured her several times that he would marry her. Her family later started looking for marriage proposals elsewhere. When she asked Mahesh about it, he refused to marry her. When she agreed to a match found by her family, he told her to break that alliance and promised that he would marry her. Trusting him, she ended that proposal, but later he went back on his promise. Girl: I should never have listened to you and stayed with you. Boy: Listen, now my sister-in-law is also with me. I have told her about all your actions. After some time, her sister came out and asked for her mobile phone. She took the phone and went back into the room. After a while, the child began crying loudly. When the crying did not stop, she went inside. She was shocked by what she saw. Her sister was hanging from the noose in the room. Panicked, she ran outside shouting for help. Family members and neighbours gathered. They brought her down and took her to hospital, where doctors declared her dead. In the afternoon, both sisters had lunch together and she appeared completely normal. She was even joking and laughing. Nothing in her behaviour suggested that she was troubled or capable of taking such a step. Family members said – The boy had gotten engaged somewhere else According to the family, everything between the two was fine initially and they often spoke about marriage. Later, disputes started regarding marriage. The family said the man sometimes agreed to marry and sometimes refused. The family had initiated talks for marriage at two places. When the man came to know about it, he asked the woman to refuse those proposals, saying he would marry her. Trusting him, she declined both proposals. Later, he went back on his word and told her to marry wherever her family decided. According to the family, he said this because he had already got engaged somewhere else. Sister-in-law said – Had asked to call the boy home The woman’s sister-in-law Muskan said the victim had told her that she liked a boy and wanted to marry him. She advised her to call the man home so the matter could be discussed with the family, but that never happened. Dispute had been going on between them for a year Family members said that disputes had been going on between the two for about a year. They often argued over phone calls and messages. The woman never let the family realise how troubled she was. They had no idea she would take such a step. Family demanded strict action against the youth The family said that if the man had given a clear answer in time, the woman might not have taken such an extreme step. They have demanded a fair investigation and strict action against the accused. Suicide note and WhatsApp chat became basis of investigation Kotwali police station in-charge Deepak Singh Chauhan said the investigation is being carried out based on the suicide note, mobile chats and statements of family members. The evidence found in the mobile phone will undergo technical examination. The handwriting in the suicide note will also be verified. Action will be taken based on whatever facts emerge.
