A new revelation has come out in the case of a conspiracy to honeytrap Mahamandaleshwar Shanti Swaroopanand Maharaj of Ujjain’s famous Chardham temple and blackmail him in a false rape case. The woman who was allegedly brought for the honeytrap has now been made the complainant in the case by the police. In her statement to the police, the woman revealed several shocking details about the conspiracy. She claimed that Sadhvi Mandakini, the former Mahamandaleshwar who allegedly planned the plot, secretly recorded obscene videos of her while she was bathing. According to the woman, Sadhvi Mandakini later threatened to make the videos viral and introduced her to Ghanshyam Patel. She was then told about a plan to trap Mahamandaleshwar Shanti Swaroopanand Maharaj in a false case. The woman said she refused to take part in the plan. She also alleged that she was offered a bribe of Rs 50,000 to carry out the conspiracy, but she did not agree. Following the statement, the police have registered a case against Sadhvi Mandakini and Ghanshyam Patel under serious sections of the law. Meanwhile, Ghanshyam Patel had filed an application for anticipatory bail in the Ujjain court. However, the court rejected his bail plea. Meeting held on March 8 at Datta Akhara complex On March 8, Ghanshyam Patel reached Ujjain’s Dutt Akhara complex to meet a woman who had come from Banaras. He had gone to Mahant Anandpuri Maharaj of Dutt Akhara regarding recording the woman’s statement. During this time, Pandit Lokesh Sharma and Sanjay Goswami also arrived there. They took information about the entire matter and, upon the truth coming out, informed Ujjain’s SP Pradeep Sharma about it. Considering the matter serious, the SP immediately instructed police officers to investigate. After this, the woman accused Ghanshyam Patel and Sadhvi Mandakini of conspiring a honeytrap. Based on the woman’s allegations, the police registered a case against Sadhvi Mandakini and Ghanshyam Patel. Woman said – met during Shipra Parikrama Shilpa (name changed), a woman from Banaras, said that in 2024, she met many saints during the Shipra Parikrama. During this time, Sadhvi Rajrajeshwari Mata Ji introduced her to Sadhvi Mandakini. According to the woman, Sadhvi Mandakini told her that they needed someone to work there and asked her to stay. After this, she started visiting there regularly. Being a woman, she trusted Sadhvi Mandakini. The woman stated that the Sadhvi used to call herself the biggest tantric in all of India. Because she believes a lot in worship and rituals, she trusted her words. Woman said nude videos were made while bathing Shilpa said – In January 2026, I wanted to learn worship and rituals from Mandakini, so she hired me. During this time, I kept visiting her house. During Gupt Navratri, I stayed at her house for a week. During this time, when I was bathing, Mandakini took a front-facing photo of me without clothes with her mobile. I said, “Didi, what are you doing?” Mandakini said, “I just took it like that” and said such things to me that I cannot even speak on camera. When I protested, she said she would delete the photo. Mandakini used to say – I am not going to leave her I never saw Sadhvi Mandakini performing worship. Her lifestyle was also very bad. Many people used to come to her house at night. During this time, Ghanshyam Patel also used to visit frequently. At that time, I didn’t even know what a Mahamandaleshwar was called. Mandakini used to say that until he makes me a Mahamandaleshwar, I will not leave him. She told me that Swami Ji had exploited me, and this is what I have to say. Ghanshyam came to meet the victim on February 27 The victim stated that on February 27, 2026, Ghanshyam Patel came to meet her in Banaras. There he said that if she came to Ujjain and filed a false rape case against Mahamandaleshwar Shanti Swaroopanand, he would give her 50 thousand rupees. If she did not do so, she was threatened that Sadhvi Mandakini had taken some of her obscene photos, which she would make public. Ghanshyam Patel sent 2 thousand rupees to the woman’s son’s mobile and also sent a Sanjay Travels ticket from Banaras to Ujjain. The woman told the police that Ghanshyam Patel had called her to file a false rape case against Mahamandaleshwar Shanti Swaroopanand. Upon receiving information about the entire matter, the saints complained about it to the police. Mandakini’s mobile investigation is pending An anticipatory bail application was filed by the accused Ghanshyam Patel in the Ujjain Sessions Court on Thursday. In this petition, Senior Advocate Virendra Sharma presented arguments before the court on behalf of Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shanti Swaroopanand. He stated that the accused has conspired to tarnish the reputation of Sanatan culture, the saint community, and the city of Ujjain worldwide by filing a false case against the Mahamandaleshwar. Along with this, an investigation into the obscene videos found on Mandakini’s mobile is also necessary. The court took the arguments seriously and rejected the bail of the accused Ghanshyam Patel. She used to work in the kitchen at religious events Mamta Joshi alias Mandakini earlier used to cook in the religious events of saints. During this time, she came in contact with sadhus and saints. Claiming herself to be a sanyasi, she increased contact with Narendra Giri Maharaj, the then president of Akhara Parishad, with the help of Anantanand Maharaj. During the Ujjain Simhastha in 2016, she declared herself a sanyasi, claiming to be unmarried. She also gave false information to the saints about land, a restaurant, and an ashram on Mangalnath Road. All the saints fell for her words. After this, during the ‘Pattabhishek’ (coronation) ceremony held in Niranjani Akhara during Simhastha, Akhara Parishad President Ravindra Puri Maharaj, who was present, made her a Mahamandaleshwar.
