Ratlam police have started an investigation into the large-scale irregularities in the Excise Constable Recruitment Examination-2024, organised by the Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (ESB). Two police teams are engaged at different locations. At Ratlam Public School, the largest examination center in Ratlam, the police also interrogated the school’s director, Sanyogita Singh, and prepared a complete map of the school, which included details of all rooms, routes, and staff presence during the examination. SP Amit Kumar has constituted an SIT to investigate this matter. One team of the SIT has gone to Bhopal, where it will collect technical evidence related to the examination. This includes CCTV data of the examination center and documents related to the examination. Meanwhile, the second team has gone towards Bhind and Morena in search of 12 candidates. The police have received some important clues, based on which Ratlam police have intensified their investigation. I have enhanced the image to a higher HD resolution. School Principal Interrogated In the case of irregularities during the examination, the school principal was interrogated. The police gathered information about which room the examination took place in, when the staff was present, who used the entry and exit routes of the school, and how the CCTV was functioning during the examination. After the large-scale fraud came to light, ESB has banned Ratlam Public School from all upcoming examinations. This examination was conducted by the Mumbai-based company ‘Aptech Limited’. Information has been received that this company has been blacklisted in states like Uttar Pradesh and Assam. Several cases of paper leaks and screen sharing have been registered against the company in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. However, the police are currently refraining from giving an official statement on this. 4500 candidates appeared for the exam at the school Ratlam Public School was the largest examination centre. Approximately 4500 candidates took the exam here. The company provided 357 computers, on which the examination was conducted in two shifts across five rooms. The examination was held between September 9 and 21, 2025, in 11 cities, including Bhopal, Indore, and Ratlam. The Ratlam centre was chosen for this examination for the first time. Sat silently for one hour out of two hours, did not even touch the mouse The investigation revealed that 12 candidates completed the exam very quickly. In the two-hour exam, they sat silently for the first hour and did not even touch the mouse. After that, 15 candidates solved 100 questions in 15 minutes and 30 minutes. Seeing this unusual speed, the police expressed suspicion. Previously, all these candidates had appeared in other police recruitment and exams, but their scores were less than 50. This time, all of them scored more than 90 marks and achieved 100 percentile, which exposed large-scale irregularities. The investigation also revealed that all 12 candidates were helped by one person at the examination centre. All these candidates came to take the exam on different dates and shifts, but their center was the same and the helper was also the same person. Case registered as zero FIR on March 2 On the complaint of System Analyst Praneet Sijaria, a zero FIR was registered at a police station in Bhopal on March 2. Since the examination center was in the Industrial Area police station of Ratlam, the case diary was transferred to Ratlam and the actual inquest was registered here. Dainik Bhaskar Digital tried to get a statement from the school principal, but she refused to say anything and stated that the information requested by the police has been provided. CSP Satyendra Ghanghoria said that all those included in the SIT are working according to their responsibilities. Two teams have been assigned different tasks. One team is collecting technical evidence, while the other team is assisting in further investigation. The police interrogated the school principal and detailed information about all the facts is being gathered.
