Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari on Wednesday exposed a large network of corruption operating in the Water Resources Department (WRD). Patwari alleged with documents that only a game of ‘contracting and commission’ is going on in the state in the name of irrigation projects. Giving a 15-day ultimatum to the government, he said that if an investigation is not conducted, the Congress will approach the CBI with evidence. Patwari sarcastically said, “The government is calling it the ‘Agriculture Year’, whereas it is the ‘Commission Year’. Just yesterday, the government took a loan of 5800 crore, but this money is not going to the farmers, but into the pockets of favored contractors.” Patwari’s 5 Sharpest Allegations Patwari asked who are Naushad and Ashwin Natu Jitu Patwari questioned the officials of the Water Resources Department and the CM, asking who exactly are these ‘Naushad’ and ‘Ashwin Natu’? Will the government investigate all bank guarantees deposited in the department? Why is a judicial inquiry not being conducted into the 2023-24 tenders? “If no action is taken in 15 days, we will go to the CBI office” Patwari warned that the government has 15 days. If an independent audit and investigation are not conducted, the Congress delegation will submit a complaint to the CBI with documents. He also said that the government’s claim regarding the irrigated area is false, and the Congress will verify it itself and bring out the truth.
