A 22-year-old digital marketing sales manager has accused the son of a BJP minority cell leader of rape in Indore in Madhya Pradesh. The accused allegedly recorded obscene photos and videos of the woman and later threatened to make them viral to continue exploiting her. The case has been registered at Kotwali police station, Indore. According to police, the victim approached the women’s police station on Saturday along with members of the Hindu Jagran Manch. She filed a complaint of rape, blackmail and pressure to convert religion. An FIR has been registered against Farhan Sheikh, son of Shafuddin Sheikh, a BJP minority cell office-bearer. First meeting was at a cafe The woman told police she first met the accused on 28 October 2025 at a café in the Vijay Nagar, Indore. During the meeting, they introduced themselves and exchanged mobile numbers. They later started communicating through WhatsApp. Rape allegation after calling to flat In her complaint, the woman said the accused called her to a flat on 15 November 2025, claiming he would introduce her to his parents. After she reached the flat, he told her his parents would arrive shortly. She alleged that he raped her there. The victim said when she later proposed marriage, the accused revealed that his real name was Farhan, not Mohit, and that he was already married. Shocked by this, she left the flat. Accused of blackmailing in the name of photos and videos The woman alleged that after the incident, the accused began blackmailing her using obscene photos and videos. She said he continued exploiting her until 13 December 2025 and is still threatening her. According to the complaint, some of the photos were also uploaded on social media. Distressed by the situation, the woman informed her cousin, who then contacted members of a Hindu organisation and helped her file a police complaint. Police is investigating the case Police said an FIR has been registered against the accused and the matter is under investigation. Further action will be taken based on the findings of the probe.
