After the Indian cricket team won the T20 World Cup title on Sunday night, clashes broke out during celebrations in Dewas, Ujjain, and Shajapur in Madhya Pradesh. Two security personnel were injured in Dewas, while 10 people were injured in Ujjain. Police are investigating all three incidents. The first incident occurred in Dewas during victory celebrations at Sayajidwar, where people were throwing colored powder, waving the tricolor, and bursting firecrackers. During the celebrations, some youths began throwing burning firecrackers into the crowd, creating chaos. Sparks from the firecrackers injured two security personnel, Ashish Yadav and Surendra Shriwas, who had come from Ujjain. Surendra suffered injuries to his mouth and head. Both were treated at the district hospital and later discharged. Meanwhile, a firecracker exploded near the ear of CSP Sumit Agarwal, after which he was taken to MG Hospital for a check-up. Police had to lathi-charge to control the situation. Four people have been detained, and the remaining suspects are being identified through CCTV footage.
