More than six masked miscreants brutally attacked two youths in Bheem Nagar, Bhopal, on Tuesday night, beating them until they lost consciousness. The attackers used knives, sharp weapons and stones to crush their faces and noses, and also assaulted them with kicks and punches. Both victims sustained serious injuries and were admitted to hospital. According to information, the injured have been identified as Raghvendra Sen and Saurabh Vishwakarma. The attackers allegedly struck them 12 to 15 times within just 38 seconds. Police said the assault was carried out due to an old rivalry, and a video of the incident has also surfaced. An FIR has been registered and investigation is underway. Attack carried out by Akku gang Police said the attack was led by Akku alias Akash and Vishal Chapti along with their associates. The assault was reportedly carried out after Raghvendra refused to settle an earlier case. The accused severely beat Raghvendra and his companion in anger over the dispute. FIR registered based on friend’s complaint Saurabh Vishwakarma told police that he and Raghvendra were standing near Hanuman Temple and talking when Akku, Vishal and their associates suddenly attacked them. Raghvendra suffered serious head injuries, and Saurabh was also badly injured while trying to intervene and save his friend. Attack meant to establish dominance in the area Police said Akku and Vishal are known criminals in the area, and people often avoid filing complaints against them due to fear. However, Raghvendra had previously filed a case against the accused and refused to withdraw it despite repeated pressure. Police believe the accused carried out the attack to spread fear and demonstrate the consequences of taking action against them. Attack linked to previous dispute, arrests soon Additional DCP Gautam Solanki said there was an existing dispute between the victims and the accused, which led to the assault. An FIR has been registered against two named accused and several others. Police said efforts are underway to arrest the suspects soon.
