Today marks the seventh day of the Assembly’s budget session. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, while addressing the House, announced that the government has decided to celebrate the Bhagoria folk festival, observed in tribal areas of the Malwa region, as a national festival. The Chief Minister also informed that the government is preparing to hold Agriculture Cabinet meetings in tribal-dominated districts of Barwani, Dhar, and Jhabua. He said these meetings will coincide with the Bhagoria festival. Meanwhile, the CM stated that the Cabinet has approved announcements made in farmers’ interest. The state government will provide a bonus of ₹600 per quintal on black gram procurement. Additionally, payments under the price deficiency scheme will be made based on the projected 71 lakh tonnes of mustard production, which is expected to rise by 28%. Land settlement issues raised during attention motion Congress MLA Jhuma Solanki raised concerns about pending land settlements in Bhikangaon, Jhirnya, and Maheshwar areas of Khargone, highlighting that people are facing problems due to discrepancies in records. Congress MLA Rajan Mandloi supported her statement. Revenue Minister Karan Singh Verma responded that if any irregularities exist, applications can be submitted to the Collector or Tehsildar, investigations will be conducted, and corrections made. Departmental grant demands discussions After Question Hour, Zero Hour, and the presentation of petitions and papers, discussions on departmental grant demands will take place. Nearly seven hours and forty-five minutes have been allocated for these discussions. Since Monday’s discussion on the Urban Development and Housing Department could not be completed, it will be addressed first. This will be followed by discussions on Tribal Affairs and Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation. Grant demands of the Public Assets Department and Scheduled Caste Welfare Department will also be debated. Discussions will continue on the Public Works Department, Public Health and Medical Education, School Education, and Transport Departments. Finally, grant demands for Higher Education, AYUSH, Technical Education, and Skill Development and Employment Departments will be considered. Uproar over Ladli Behna scheme On Monday, there was a major uproar in the House regarding new registrations for the Ladli Behna Scheme. Congress MLA Mahesh Parmar questioned when registration for eligible new sisters under the scheme would begin, criticizing the government for providing unclear information. In response, BJP MLA Rameshwar Sharma countered, stating that while the minister is giving accurate answers, the Congress leadership, specifically Jitu Patwari, should clarify what they are communicating to the beneficiaries.
