In Maihar, on Friday morning, around 9:30 AM, a Traffic Inspector was burnt by fire during a protest. This incident occurred when protesters were burning an effigy, and the police were trying to stop them. This protest was being held against Kailash Vijayvargiya, the state’s Urban Development and Housing Minister. Vijayvargiya had used abusive language against Leader of Opposition Umang Singar. During the effigy burning, TI Vikram Singh Pathak was trying to control the situation. During this, the fire suddenly flared up and he got burnt. He was immediately admitted to the hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. After the incident, Maihar SP said that everyone was hurt by it. He said that flammable substances like petrol should not be used in public places and intersections, as this can lead to a major accident at any time. The lives of common people can be endangered. The police have taken cognisance of the matter and have stated that appropriate action will be taken against those responsible.
