The impact of ‘AI Impact Summit 2026’, being held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi from February 16 to 20, is now visible on hotel rates across NCR. Not just Delhi, but luxury and business hotel rates in Gurugram, Noida and Faridabad have increased up to 3 times. The one-night rate at ‘The Leela Ambience’ in Gurugram has reached Rs 6.15 lakh, which is three times higher than normal days. Tech giants like Google CEO Sundar Pichai, OpenAI’s Sam Altman and others will be participating in this mega event. Due to heavy demand, hotels have increased their rates from 50% to 300% for February 18. According to MakeMyTrip data, rooms that are available at cheaper rates in the first week of March are currently much more expensive. Gurugram: Luxury Suite Prices Cross Rs 5 Lakh
The increasing demand in Cyber City Gurugram has most significantly impacted premium hotels. ‘The Leela Ambience’s’ Panoramic Suite is available for Rs 6.15 lakh (including tax) for February 18, while the same suite costs Rs 1.9 lakh on March 9. Similarly, the Royal Suite at ‘The Westin Gurgaon’ has reached a rate of Rs 2.10 lakh, which normally stays around Rs 90,000. At ‘Le Meridien’ too, the king bed room rates have increased from Rs 25,000 to Rs 47,200. Heavy crowds in mid-scale hotels too, rates doubled
Not just five-star hotels, but rates of medium category business hotels have also doubled. The deluxe room rent at ‘Lemon Tree Premier’ in Sector 29 has increased from Rs 13,375 to Rs 26,563. At ‘Radisson Hotel’ on Sohna Road, guests now have to pay Rs 22,416 instead of Rs 12,951 for a room. Experts say that people are turning to Gurugram due to hotels being full in Delhi. Noida: Prices increased here by the highest percentage
The highest percentage increase in rent is being seen in Noida. The twin bed suite at Noida’s ‘Savoy Suites’ costs Rs 89,208 for February 18, while it is available for Rs 13,989 on March 9. This means prices have increased more than 6 times here. At ‘Bloom Hotel’ in Sector 62, the rent has also increased from Rs 6,000 to over Rs 15,000. Prices have also doubled at Sandal Suites. Impact in Faridabad and Surajkund too
Hotel bookings are also high in Faridabad, which borders Delhi. The superior room rate at ‘Radisson Blu Faridabad’ has increased from Rs 15,611 to Rs 25,090. Meanwhile, ‘Taj Surajkund’ has also seen a slight increase, where the rate remains around Rs 18,800. Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council Chairperson Jyoti Mayal says that due to the summit, the number of international delegates has increased, leading to peak occupancy levels. Mohandas Pai says – Rs 30 lakh room rate brings disrepute to India
Earlier, news had emerged that room rates in some Delhi hotels had reached up to Rs 30 lakh. Former Infosys CFO Mohandas Pai expressed displeasure over this. He wrote on social media (X), “A rate of Rs 30 lakh is absurd. This is damaging India’s image. It seems like we are looting foreign guests. Hotel chains should establish a ‘code of conduct’.” He said that India has far fewer rooms compared to cities like Dubai and New York, which needs to be increased. High demand and low supply is a major reason
Federation of Association in Indian Tourism and Hospitality (FAITH) board member Anil Kalsi said that the demand for hotel rooms in India is much higher compared to supply. He explained that new rooms are being added in the second phase of Aerocity, but this will take time. The government should make capital easily available to hotel owners and simplify the approval process for starting hotels so that capacity can be increased.
