Ranjhi police have arrested four accused, including Shivam Vajpayee, in connection with the murder of Akansh Sahu, whose life was cut short after being stabbed multiple times following a minor vehicle collision. CCTV footage from the scene shows seven to eight assailants attacking the victim. Four other suspects remain at large. Shivam, 29, a security guard from Mahatma Gandhi Ward, Niwadganj Pandey Chowk, admitted during interrogation that he called his friends to attack Akansh and instructed them to stab him until he died. “I didn’t even know him. I just wanted to settle the matter after the accident,” Shivam told police. Incident details On the night of 8 February, Shivam was returning home with friends after a drinking party. Near Gokalpur Lakshmi Mandir, his bike collided with a Creta car driven by Akansh Sahu, a resident of Adhartal. Both vehicles were damaged in the minor accident. Following the collision, Akansh’s friends arrived at the scene and confronted Shivam, who was reportedly intoxicated. Akansh took Shivam’s name and mobile number, requesting that the car be repaired. Shivam assured him that he would fix the car the next morning and left. Approximately 10 minutes later, eight youths on bikes arrived at the site, verbally abused Akansh, and began attacking him. Two of the attackers wielded knives, striking him in the chest and legs. Akansh attempted to flee but collapsed nearby due to severe blood loss from a stab wound to his heart. He was rushed to Civil Hospital and then referred to Medical College, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police Investigation CSP Satish Sahu and Station Officer Umesh Golhani, along with the police team, reached the scene and recovered the damaged bike. CCTV footage confirmed the involvement of seven to eight youths in the assault. The bike, registered as MP 20 KS 0511, was sold to Shivam by Sanjay Singh Thakur a few months earlier. See 3 pictures On 12 February, police arrested Shivam near Vijay Nagar Zero Degree based on a tip-off. During questioning, he named seven accomplices involved in the attack: Sudhir Chaudhary (Amkhera), Sumit Chaudhary (Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Ward), Ankit Chaurasia (Hanumantal), Kamlesh Kumar, Jai Bain, Chotu Thakur, and another unidentified person. Kamlesh and Chotu carried out the stabbing. Momentary rage turns deadly According to police, the accused and the victim did not know each other prior to the accident. A minor collision escalated into a fatal stabbing. Over 10 CCTV cameras captured the entire incident. Police continue to search for the remaining four fugitives involved in the murder.
