District in-charge minister Tulsiram Silawat had reached the Circuit House in Murar on Thursday to hold a meeting with administrative officials. Before the meeting, while speaking to reporters, he became angry at a journalist and told him not to direct him and to speak properly. The reporter had raised questions about the poor condition of roads and hospital services in Gwalior, saying the minister appears active only when Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia visits. Hearing this, Silawat’s tone changed. In an angry response, Silawat said no one has the right to question him like that. He added that his record is with the party and the government, and asked them to check how many times he has visited Gwalior during the year before asking such questions. Report taken on farmers’ losses due to hailstorm During the meeting, the minister also reviewed a report on losses suffered by farmers due to recent hailstorms. He said about 1,711 farmers in Gwalior rural areas were affected and around ₹2.63 crore in relief has been fixed, which will be distributed on 20 February. He instructed officials to ensure that no eligible farmer is left out of compensation. The minister also met the newly formed executive committee of Gwalior district and congratulated them, assuring that the BJP government in Madhya Pradesh would stand with them in every situation.
