The Dainik Bhaskar Group’s in-house cricket tournament, Bhaskar Premier League (BPL-7), got underway on Monday at the Gautam Nagar sports ground. The seventh edition of the league was inaugurated by Madhya Pradesh’s Sports and Youth Welfare Minister, Vishwas Kailash Sarang. The tournament is part of the Dainik Bhaskar Group’s initiative to encourage sports, recreation and overall mental and physical well-being among its employees. This season, the league has expanded in scale and participation, making it more competitive and engaging. A total of 28 teams representing different departments of the Bhaskar Group are taking part. During the inauguration, MP State Head Satish Singh, Admin Head Abhay Singh, National Ideation Head Nimesh Sharma, Digital MP Head Kapil Bhatnagar, along with HR team members Digant Daga and Rajkumar Sahu, felicitated Minister Vishwas Sarang. Local councilor Rakesh Yadav, ground coordinator Pankaj Singh Thakur, Sahil Jain, Gopal Sharma, Vibha Sarga, Azad Sharma, Simmi Nageshwar and Sajal Agarwal made the event smoother. Stage management and coordination was done by Yogendra Hardenia and Mamtesh Sharma. First day of BPL: Three matches were played on the first day Monday in which the first match was won by DB Rockers by 69 runs. Ankit Pathak was the Man of the Match. DB Strikers won the second match by 8 wickets. Anas Shakir was the man of the match. Production Rock won the third match by 7 wickets. Vishal Srivastava was the man of the match.
