A car driver was stabbed to death following a collision between a bike and a car in Jabalpur late on Sunday night. The incident occurred near the Durga Temple in the Ranjhi police station area. The injured driver died during treatment on Monday morning. The deceased has been identified as Akanksh Sahu, a resident of Adhartal. He was involved in the furniture business. Police have registered a murder case and begun searching for the accused. Head-on collision near Durga Temple The head-on collision between the car and the bike took place between 11 pm and 12 midnight on Sunday. After the crash, the drivers of both vehicles came onto the road. During an argument, the bike rider abused the car driver. As the dispute escalated, the accused called five more companions to the spot. The group then attacked the car driver with knives and fled the scene. Local residents rushed the seriously injured driver to the district hospital. Doctors provided treatment, but he succumbed to his injuries the following morning. The car belonged to Akanksh. He was standing on the road after the collision when the attack took place. Attacked while returning after meeting friends Akanksh Sahu was returning home after meeting friends in Gokulpur on Sunday night when the accident occurred, followed by the fatal attack. Ranjhi police have registered a case of murder against unknown accused. On Monday, Ranjhi CSP Satish Sahu reached the spot with his team. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined to identify the attackers. Railway engineer also attacked in separate incident In another incident, on the night of 7 February, a miscreant stabbed a railway section engineer in Jabalpur. The incident occurred in Shaktinagar, under the Garha police station area. Garha police reached a private hospital near Chhoti Line after receiving information that a railway official had been admitted with injuries. During questioning, the injured man identified himself as Kunal Kumar, aged 35, a resident near Mother Dairy in Shaktinagar. He said he works as a Senior Section Engineer in the Railways. After the incident, the accused was seen roaming in the market carrying a knife. According to the victim, he was returning home from his office at around 7:50 pm. After buying vegetables from a market near Suvidha Market, he reached his scooter (MP 20 SP 5073) and was placing the vegetables on it when two youths on a motorcycle arrived. The youths abused him and demanded ₹2,000 for alcohol. When he refused to pay, the rider attacked him with a knife, injuring his thigh and the area behind a finger near the thumb of his left hand. The victim abandoned his scooter and ran to save his life. The attackers threatened to kill him before fleeing. According to the victim, both accused are aged between 20 and 30 years.
