Head Constable Hoshiyar Singh (50), posted at Kanavati Police Line in Neemuch, died after consuming poison on Sunday. In a three-page suicide note addressed to the DGP, DIG and SP, he levelled serious allegations of departmental corruption and accused police line officials of harassment. He also sought permission to end his life in the note. Hoshiyar Singh had been on leave for the past five days and was scheduled to resume duty on Monday. Before that, on Sunday afternoon, he allegedly consumed a poisonous substance and then reached the police control room, where he informed officials about his condition before collapsing. The incident triggered panic among staff present at the control room. Referred to private hospital On receiving information, Cantt police station in-charge Nilesh Awasthi reached the spot and rushed Hoshyiar Singh to the district hospital. As his condition continued to worsen, doctors referred him to a private hospital. However, he died before he could be shifted for further treatment. Reason for consuming poison not clear TI Nilesh Awasthi said, ‘It is not yet clear why Head Constable Hoshiyar Singh consumed poison?
