The Khelo MP Youth Games 2026 will conclude today (Saturday) with a grand closing ceremony at 5 pm at the Kushabhau Thakre Auditorium, Bhopal. Governor Mangubhai Patel will attend the event as the chief guest. Selected players, coaches, and sports enthusiasts from across Madhya Pradesh will be present at the ceremony. Preparations reviewed ahead of closing ceremony Ahead of the finale, Cooperation, Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Kailash Sarang reviewed the preparations at the Major Dhyan Chand Hall, Tatya Tope Stadium, along with senior departmental officials. Discussions focused on stage arrangements, prize distribution, the event schedule, and guest coordination. Games began on January 13 Officials said the Khelo MP Youth Games started on January 13. Competitions were held at block, district, divisional, and state levels across 28 sports disciplines. Young athletes from both rural and urban areas participated, showcasing their sporting talent. Outstanding players and Divisions to be honoured At the closing ceremony, players and divisions that delivered exceptional performances across different sports will be honoured. The minister said the event went beyond winning medals and played a vital role in strengthening the sports culture in the state and identifying future national and international-level athletes. Kayaking and Canoeing add thrill at Lower Lake Kayaking and canoeing events held at Lower Lake, Bhopal, witnessed exciting performances by boys and girls. Athletes impressed spectators with their balance, speed, and technical skills, creating a lively atmosphere. Pragati Sharma wins gold in C1 girls 200m In the C1 Girls 200m final, Pragati Sharma of Bhopal won the gold medal with a timing of 50.476 seconds. Mahi Shaoo (Tikamgarh) secured silver, while Vedika Bishnoi (Harda) claimed bronze. Divyani Dugar dominates C2 girls 500m In the C2 Girls 500m final, Divyani Dugar of Bhopal clinched gold by finishing the race in 2:18.388 minutes. Kanupriya Rajput (Tikamgarh) won silver, and Anaya Faiz (Sagar) took bronze. Bhopal tops K4 girls team event The K4 Girls 500m team event was won by Bhopal’s team comprising Rukmani Dangi, Manvi Jat, Rishika Verma, and Neelu Verma. Tikamgarh finished second, while Harda secured third place. Bhopal also wins K4 boys 500m In the K4 Boys 500m event, Bhopal’s team of K. Santosh Singh, Abhishek Arya, Fairenbam Yaifba Singh, and Rajkumar Kushwaha won gold. Tikamgarh earned silver, and Ujjain claimed bronze. High-quality boxing bouts at TT Nagar stadium State-level boxing competitions at TT Nagar Stadium saw young boxers display strong technique and powerful punches, delivering high-intensity matches. Bhopal division wins Under-19 cricket title In the Under-19 Boys Cricket final, Bhopal Division defeated Gwalior Division by 159 runs to win the championship trophy along with a ₹31,000 cash prize. Gwalior finished as runners-up, while Sagar Division secured third place.
