A man attempted suicide twice after his first attempt failed in Chhindwara district. He first tried to hang himself, but the rope snapped. He then allegedly slit his throat using a grinder machine. He has been referred to Nagpur for advanced treatment and remains in critical condition. Incident reported from Bararipura area The incident took place in the Bararipura area of Chhindwara. According to Kotwali police station inspector Ashish Kumar, the man’s brother, Sonu Verma, informed the police around 5 am on Saturday that his brother, Monu Verma, had seriously injured himself. Family rushed him to hospital Family members rushed Monu to the district hospital, where doctors assessed his condition as critical and referred him to Nagpur for further treatment. Police said Monu Verma is involved in building construction and farming-related work. Preliminary investigation revealed that he had been under stress for the past three days. Family heard loud noise at night Late at night, family members heard a loud noise coming from inside the house. When they went to check, they found the room locked from inside. After hearing another noise some time later, they broke open the door and found Monu lying unconscious in a pool of blood. Police investigation underway Police investigation revealed that Monu first attempted to hang himself, but the rope broke. He then used a grinder machine to cut his throat. According to his brother, the family is unaware of the exact reason behind his distress. Police are continuing further investigation into the matter.
