The Bhopal district administration carried out a major crackdown against illegal colonies in Bhopal’s Huzur Tehsil area on Saturday.
In Eintkhedi, action was taken against four illegal colonies where gates and tin sheds were demolished using JCB machines, and internal roads were uprooted. Encroachments were also removed from one location. The colonies were being developed on land worth nearly Rs 8 crore. Action follows FIRs against illegal developers After registering FIRs against those involved in illegal colonisation, the district administration has now begun ground-level action. Illegal constructions are being demolished with the help of heavy machinery as part of the ongoing drive. Operation led by SDM and Tehsildar The action was carried out on a holiday under the supervision of Huzur SDM Vinod Sonkia and Tehsildar Alok Pare. Police force was deployed during the operation to maintain law and order. Names of illegal colony developers revealed According to officials, illegal colonies were being developed in Intkhedi by Ruksana, wife of Mohd Mohsin; Vinod, son of Umesh Sahu; Rizwan, son of Mohd Hanif; and Hiralal, son of Balmukund. SDM Vinod Sonkia said that construction work in these colonies was first investigated, and action was taken after confirming violations. Continued drive against illegal colonies The administration stated that strict action against illegal colonies will continue across the district. Recently, FIRs were registered at police stations against illegal developers in the Huzur subdivision, followed by the decision to carry out demolition drives. Illegal construction on government land also demolished In a separate action at Parwarkheda village, illegal tin sheds and boundary walls built on government land were demolished using JCB machines. The tin shed, reportedly constructed for keeping animals, was removed as part of the encroachment-clearing drive. The district administration has reiterated that no illegal construction or encroachment will be allowed to remain.
