‘i-sell-toilet-water-in-my-city’:union-minister-gadkari-says-sewage-generates-₹300-cr-annually;-lays-foundation-stones-for-₹4,400-cr-road-projects-in-vidisha

Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari said he earns Rs 300 crores by selling treated toilet water in his city and has now started earning from waste as well. He shared his personal journey from a student leader to a Union minister, stressing the importance of good leadership. Gadkari was speaking at a major public event in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, where large road projects were launched in the presence of senior leaders. Senior leaders present in Vidisha Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Vidisha on Saturday. Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav was also present with them. The leaders took part in a road show across the town. During the road show, people welcomed the ministers at several locations. Local residents gathered along the route and greeted them enthusiastically. Major event at agricultural market yard The main programme was held at the Vidisha Agricultural Produce Market Committee premises. A large public gathering attended the event. Road projects worth over Rs 4,400 crores Nitin Gadkari inaugurated and laid foundation stones for eight road projects with a total length of about 181 kilometres. He announced road and driving training centre projects worth more than Rs 4,400 crores for the region. Addressing the gathering, Gadkari said he sells treated toilet water in his city and earns Rs 300 crores from it. He added that he has now started selling waste as well. He said proper use of resources can create income and development. Journey from student leader to minister Gadkari spoke about his early life. He said he was once a student leader who used to write slogans on village walls. He added that he did not even know the way to Delhi or Mumbai at that time. He said meeting the right leaders and getting proper guidance changed his life. Gadkari said when good leaders provide the right guidance, change happens in the right direction. He stressed the role of leadership in development and governance. Shivraj Chouhan’s light remark Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made a light-hearted comment during his speech. He said Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav had made big announcements for Vidisha. Chouhan said that even today, if a pothole appears in a small street, people still share photos of the pothole with “Mama” (his nickname).
