A tragic road accident near Barwah claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman constable trainee when a speeding dumper hit a bike and ran over her head. Her brother, a Deputy Jailer, narrowly escaped. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon on the Indore–Ichhapur Highway. Police have seized the dumper and are searching for the absconding driver. The deceased has been identified as Richa Rajoria (24). She was undergoing constable training at the Police Training Centre in Indore. Brother survives the crash Richa’s brother, Ashu Rajoria, was riding the bike. He is posted as a Deputy Jailer at Indore Central Jail. Both brother and sister are originally from Gwalior. The siblings left Indore at around 11 am on Saturday. They were travelling to Omkareshwar for darshan on a bike. The accident took place at around 1 pm near Purani Janpad in Barwah. A dumper coming from behind tried to overtake their bike at high speed. During the attempt, the dumper hit the bike. Ashu was thrown some distance away, which saved his life. After the accident, Ashu was inconsolable. He cried bitterly on seeing his sister’s body. People present at the spot tried to console him. Family informed While crying, Ashu informed his family about the incident. After receiving the information, relatives left Indore for Barwah. Police reached the spot soon after the accident. Richa’s body was sent by ambulance to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem examination. Dumper seized, driver missing Police have seized the dumper involved in the accident. The driver fled from the scene after the crash. A search operation is underway to trace and arrest him. Police said further legal action will be taken once the driver is caught.
