A 15-year-old girl who was raped in Harda district died during treatment at a hospital in Bhopal on Wednesday night. Police said her condition worsened after the accused forcibly gave her contraceptive pills, leading to excessive bleeding. According to police, the incident falls under the City Kotwali police station area of Harda. The accused, identifed as a neighbourhood youth Vansh Kaithwas, allegedly raped the minor, after which she became nearly two months pregnant. When the accused came to know about the pregnancy, he gave her contraceptive pills in an attempt to conceal the crime. Soon after consuming the pills, the girl complained of severe abdominal pain and began bleeding heavily. Her family rushed her to Harda District Hospital. Doctors said that by the time she was brought in, her haemoglobin level had dropped critically, with only about three grams of blood left in her body. Given her condition, doctors referred her to Bhopal for advanced treatment. Despite sustained medical efforts, she succumbed late on Wednesday night. Police said additional sections will be added to the case based on the final medical report. Accused arrested, murder or culpable homicide charges to be added SDOP Shalini Paraste confirmed that the accused has been arrested and sent to jail. Following the minor’s death, police will add serious charges, including murder or culpable homicide not amounting to murder, to the case already registered against him. CMHO warns against illegal sale of medicines Harda CMHO Dr HP Singh said that selling such medicines without a doctor’s prescription is a punishable offence. He added that if any medical store is found to have sold the drugs illegally, strict action will be taken against those responsible.
