The Special POCSO Court of Shahdol district has delivered a historic verdict in a case that shames humanity. The Budhar Special Court has sentenced the main accused, Bhanu alias Ramnarayan Dhimar, to death for the rape and murder of a three-year-old innocent girl. The accused’s wife and his friend have each been sentenced to four years in prison. On Thursday, Judge Sushil Kumar Agrawal called the case ‘rarest of rare,’ comparing it to the Nirbhaya case, and said such criminals have no right to live in society. Incident details Threatened to kill After this, when the mother asked the accused about it, he was under the influence of alcohol. He said that the child was crying, so he slapped her. When the woman threatened to report it to the police, the accused abused her and threatened to kill her. The victim’s mother stated in her statement – ‘The accused, threateningly, said to tell the police that the child had fallen from the bed, otherwise he would eliminate the entire family. Due to this fear, the woman did not reveal the truth in her initial statement.’ Death during treatment Forensic expert’s statement reveals In this entire case, the most important witness was Professor Pawan Wankhede, a forensic expert from the medical college. The SPO stated that after the innocent’s death, when the post-mortem was conducted, the truth of the rape came to light. Professor Wankhede clarified that the innocent’s genitals were injured by a male organ. The lawyer for the other side argued that the injury could also have been caused by another object or organ, but the professor proved with evidence and arguments that the innocent was raped. The court took his statement seriously and, on this basis, sentenced the main accused to death under the POCSO Act. Judge said- ‘Rarest of Rare’ Case During the hearing, the prosecution presented strong evidence and witnesses. After this, Judge Sushil Kumar Agarwal sentenced the accused Ramnarayan Dhimar to death by hanging, saying, The incident with the 3-year-old innocent reminds of the Nirbhaya case. This case falls into the “rarest of rare” category. When the innocent child was being raped, her pain must have been unimaginable. Her genitals were not even properly developed. The Supreme Court also says…criminals in such cases have no right to live in this society. Subsequently, on Thursday, the Special POCSO Court sentenced the main accused, Bhanu alias Ramnarayan Dhimar, to life imprisonment under Section 302 IPC, three years of rigorous imprisonment under Section 201 IPC, and the death penalty under Section 5(m)/6 of the POCSO Act. Meanwhile, the accused Rajkumar Dhimar and the accused’s wife Pinky Dhimar, who were present at the scene during the incident, were found guilty of concealing the case and sentenced to four years of rigorous imprisonment each.
