BJP MLA Kalu Singh Thakur from Dharampuri has accused two people of trying to trap him in a honey trap and extort money. He claims they demanded Rs 2 crore and a four-wheeler, and later threatened him. The MLA says police did not act despite repeated complaints, forcing him to go public. Allegations made at press conference MLA Kalu Singh Thakur held a press conference on Wednesday. He alleged that a woman and Asif Ali, a resident of Dharampuri, tried to honey trap him. He said they demanded Rs 2 crore and a car. When he refused, they abused and threatened him. He demanded a fair investigation and strict action by the administration. Woman visited MLA’s office on December 23 The MLA said the woman came to his local office in Dhamnod on December 23. She asked for help, but the MLA was in Bhopal at the time. In his absence, she stayed at the office for one day. Later, the woman called him and said she had rented a house in Bhopal. She asked for help to shift her belongings there. Meeting at Bhopal residence The next day, the woman travelled to Bhopal. She came to the MLA’s residence. She asked for Rs 15,000 as financial help. The MLA refused to give the money. After this, the woman left. Accusation of false allegations and threats The MLA alleged that around one and a half hours later, the woman called him. She accused him of calling her to Bhopal with wrong intentions. The MLA denied this and said she had come on her own. He claimed that the woman and Asif Ali abused him on the phone. They allegedly threatened to file false legal cases. They also demanded money during the call. Complaints to police and senior officials MLA Thakur said he went to Dhamnod police station on December 25. He claimed his complaint was ignored. On December 27, he informed IG Anurag over the phone. He said no action was taken even after that. On Wednesday, he submitted an application to Dhar Collector Priyank Mishra. He also gave a written complaint to SP Mayank Awasthi. Claims mentioned in written complaint In his complaint, the MLA claimed that Asif had married the woman through love jihad. He alleged that both were trying to trap him and others in the area. SP Mayank Awasthi reportedly said the matter would be investigated. He also said a case could be registered against the MLA if required. MLA says CM was informed MLA Kalu Singh Thakur said he was forced to hold a press conference. He claimed no authority listened to his complaints. He said he has informed Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav about the issue. So far, there has been no official response from the police or district administration.
