A speeding trailer hit four vehicles one after another in Baretha Ghat of Betul. The accident was so severe that three cars climbed on top of each other, while a bike was crushed underneath. The bike rider, an Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI), was seriously injured, and his wife died on the spot. The accident occurred on Sunday around 3 PM. This caused a traffic jam on the Betul-Bhopal National Highway for about half an hour. The trailer driver fled from the scene. Vehicles were parked on the side to give way to container According to police, a container was coming down from the Baretha Ghat slope. People climbing the ghat had parked their vehicles on the side to give way. During this time, the trailer hit three cars and a bike from behind. ASI Chimanlal Bhalavi was riding the bike involved in the accident with his wife, Sunita. Sunita died after getting trapped under the vehicle. Chimanlal Bhalavi is posted in Vidisha District Special Branch (DSB). He has been attached to Betul for the past six months. He lives in the police line with his family. The injured got treatment in private hospitals TI Devkaran Dahariya said that clear information about those injured in the cars could not be obtained. They went to private hospitals on their own means. No injured person has reached the district hospital, Padhar hospital, or Shahpur CHC.
