The Narcotics Department has uncovered an illegal MD drugs factory in Agar Malwa district. The factory was being run in the name of a nursery in the Amla area. A joint team from the Narcotics Department, including officers from Ujjain and other districts, carried out the raid. The team reached Teerth Nursery, owned by the Ratadia family, at around 4 am on Saturday. During the raid, officials seized 31 kg and 250 grams of MD drugs. The seized drugs are worth about Rs 10 crore in India. Officials said their value in the international market could be more than Rs 50 crore. According to the Narcotics Department, information was received from an informant that a large consignment of MD drugs was to be picked up from this nursery located in the Amla area. Based on this, the team cordoned off the nursery from all sides at 4 AM. Around 4:30 AM, the team entered the premises and waited for the suspected smuggler until 10 AM. After this, the team raided inside the nursery. A drug manufacturing lab was being operated inside the nursery
During the search, a secret MD drug manufacturing lab was found operating inside the nursery premises. Approximately 600 kg of chemicals, along with prepared MD drugs, were recovered from the spot. These included MDC, MMA, sodium carbonate, triethylamine, sodium S, and other chemicals. In addition, machines and technical equipment used in drug manufacturing were also seized. This is the largest narcotics operation to date in Agar Malwa district. Preliminary investigation revealed that the MD drugs prepared here were being supplied through an interstate network. This farmhouse is said to belong to the Ratadiya brothers. So far, no arrests have been made, but during the investigation, indications of the involvement of some suspects have been found. The investigation into the drug network and supply chain is ongoing. During the operation, a large number of departmental officers were present at the spot. Around 5 PM, CSP Motilal Kushwah and Kotwali Police Station in-charge Shashi Upadhyay also reached the scene. The counting of seized material and documentation continued till late evening.
