A disturbing video showing the brutal assault of a young man in the Rewa district has surfaced, triggering outrage. The victim was allegedly tortured for over seven minutes on suspicion of theft, beaten with sticks, hung upside down, and filmed during the assault. The accused fled after leaving him in a critical condition. Caught, beaten and filmed In the viral video, one accused is seen holding the victim while another repeatedly strikes him with a stick. A third person records the assault, abuses the victim and instigates the attackers to beat him harder. At one point, one of the accused lifts the victim by holding both his hands and hangs him upside down, after which the other continues raining blows with a stick. Throughout the ordeal, the victim can be heard begging for mercy. Incident linked to Garh Police station area The incident is reportedly from the Katra locality under the Garh police station limits in Rewa district. Based on the viral footage, police have begun efforts to identify both the accused and the victim. Details captured in 7.20-minute video The 7.20-minute video shows two men mercilessly beating the victim while the third films and issues threats. During the assault, one attacker even answers a phone call while continuing to beat the victim, saying he is “coming soon.” Another accused is heard taunting the victim, saying, “Will you steal again?” while the man filming urges them to extract the names of other alleged thieves. The victim pleads, “I will die, please leave me,” to which one attacker responds mockingly that he did not die while stealing, so he would not die from the beating. See, 4 pictures… Victim pleads, attackers show no mercy As the assault continues, the victim says he is “completely broken” and begs to be spared. He admits to going somewhere once with another person but claims he does not know much beyond that. The attackers then throw him to the ground, continue beating him, and kick him in the face when he tries to touch their feet in apology. Beaten on soles after being hung upside down In a particularly cruel act, one accused again lifts the victim upside down while the others discuss beating him “the way thieves are beaten.” They remove his shoes and strike the soles of his feet with sticks while sitting on his legs. When the victim tries to escape, he is caught, slammed to the ground, and beaten again. He repeatedly pleads that he does not know who committed theft on other days and begs to be released, saying he will die. Police probe underway After severely assaulting the victim, the three accused fled the spot, leaving him half-dead. Police have taken cognisance of the viral video and are working to identify those involved. Further action is expected once the identities of the accused and the victim are confirmed.
