BJP MP calls Banmore Naib Tehsildar ‘stubborn’:Tomar dials Morena Collector over officer’s absence, says ‘She hasn’t come yet and nothing can be done’

A controversy has erupted after BJP MP from Sheopur–Morena constituency, Shiv Mangal Singh Tomar, was heard calling a woman Naib Tehsildar “stubborn” during a phone conversation with the Morena Collector.
The incident, which took place on Saturday, came to light after a video of the conversation surfaced on Monday. In the video, the MP is seen complaining to Collector Lokesh Kumar Jangid about Banmore Naib Tehsildar Vandana Yadav, alleging that she failed to turn up despite being called. ‘She hasn’t come yet,’ MP says in video In the video, MP Tomar can be heard saying that the officer did not come the previous day either and had failed to meet people who went to see her. He says she had still not arrived even after he himself traveled from Morena. He further remarks that since Banmore is a small tehsil, the officer should have been available there. He calls her “very obstinate” and adds that he knows her from his earlier administrative circle. He also says that since she is a woman officer, “nothing can be said or done.” Issue linked to overbridge demand in Banmore The incident occurred in Banmore town, located along National Highway 44. The area has witnessed frequent road accidents while pedestrians attempt to cross the highway. Local residents have been demanding the construction of an overbridge for a long time. After authorities failed to act, residents began a protest and strike on Thursday. MP Shivmangal Singh Tomar reached the protest site on Saturday to persuade the protesters to call off the agitation. MP calls Collector from protest stage At the protest venue, the MP had asked for the presence of Naib Tehsildar Vandana Yadav. When she did not arrive, he called the Morena Collector directly from the stage and complained about her absence. Following assurances that the demands would be considered, the MP managed to convince the local residents to end their strike. No response from Naib Tehsildar Attempts were made to contact Naib Tehsildar Vandana Yadav for her version of events. However, she did not respond to phone calls, and her side of the story could not be obtained at the time of filing this report.
