Amid the demands of shifting T20 World Cup 2026 games from India to Sri Lanka, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced its 15-member squad for the ICC tournament. As per the latest update from the board, Litton Das is set to lead the Bangla Tigers for the ICC tournament. Notably, pacer Mustafizur Rahman is also part of this team. He has been making headlines recently, as on Saturday, the BCCI directed the IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to release the Bangladeshi pacer from their squad. Responding to the action, BCB seeks a venue shift for the ICC tournament and formal letters to ICC BCCI. Bangladesh will kick off their campaign on 7 February against the West Indies at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, while their next two matches against Italy and England are scheduled to be played at the same venue. Reportedly, the board is planning to write to the ICC to request that their matches be shifted to Sri Lanka. If Bangladesh’s four matches are shifted from India to Sri Lanka, it would create a significant logistical nightmare for the organisers. Bangladesh government adviser Asif Nazrul confirmed on Saturday via Facebook that he had indeed instructed the BCB to approach the ICC to relocate Bangladesh’s matches to Sri Lanka.
