Protests are ongoing across India over the continued killings of Hindus in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Bangladeshi cricketer Mustafizur Rahman has been bought by Shah Rukh Khan’s team, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), for Rs 9.2 crore for IPL 2026, sparking a political controversy. Congress leader Supriya Shrinate has questioned Home Minister Amit Shah’s son and ICC Chief, Jay Shah, saying, “I want to ask who included the Bangladeshi cricketer in the IPL auction pool where players are bought and sold.” Jay Shah, as ICC Chief, makes major decisions in world cricket. Supriya Shrinate said the Home Minister’s son should answer this question, which is directed at both the BCCI and ICC. Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Sanjay Nirupam has urged Shah Rukh Khan to remove Rahman from the team, saying that given the current situation, it would be in Shah Rukh’s and the country’s best interest.
