With a heavy rush of devotees expected on December 31 and January 1, Indore Traffic Police have prepared a special traffic diversion plan for the Khajrana Ganesh Temple area. Lakhs of devotees are likely to visit the temple to welcome the New Year, and the plan aims to ensure smooth traffic flow and hassle-free movement for pilgrims. The traffic arrangement will remain effective from December 31 to January 1. Traffic diversion and route plan · Vehicles heading towards Khajrana Ganesh Temple will move from Khajrana Square, take the service road, turn left near Siddhivinayak Hospital, proceed via Ganeshpuri Main Road and Goyal Vihar Rainbasera T-point, and enter the temple through the designated entry gate to reach the parking area. · After darshan, vehicles will exit the temple parking area from the Kalka Mata Temple gate, turn left towards Ganesh Mandir Tiraha, pass through Peepal Square, and return to Khajrana Square. · Vehicles heading towards Khajrana village will use the route from Khajrana Square via Goya Road. Similarly, vehicles coming towards Khajrana Square will be diverted through Jamjam Tiraha, Mannat General Store, and Goya Road. · Entry of vehicles from Bangali Square towards Siddhivinayak Hospital via the service road will remain prohibited. · City buses will not be allowed to operate from Khajrana Square and Goya Road towards Star Square, and from Peepal Square towards Khajrana. Traffic police have advised citizens and devotees to follow the designated routes and cooperate with traffic personnel deployed in the area. Temple entry timings Temple management has also announced special arrangements for devotees. Entry into the temple will be closed at 11 pm on December 31. The midnight aarti at 12 am will be attended only by devotees already inside the temple premises. Entry for devotees will reopen at 4 am on January 1. Security and crowd management Priest Pandit Ashok Bhatt said that police force from four police stations will be deployed at the temple. Surveillance will be carried out through 90 CCTV cameras, and 60 security guards will be stationed to manage the crowd. To facilitate quicker darshan, both permanent and temporary barricades have been installed. Devotees will move in a zig-zag queue system, with four parallel lines near the sanctum. Darshan is expected to take around 30 minutes, while barricaded arrangements have also been made for VIP darshan.
