Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav completed two years in office on December 13. On Wednesday, he spoke at a day-long conclave held at DB Mall in Bhopal, where several dignitaries and officials were present. CM Yadav said that a chief minister should focus not only on infrastructure but also on the state’s unique strengths. He highlighted environmental progress, noting that the number of cheetahs in Kuno National Park has increased from 20 to 31. This reflects the government’s commitment towards protecting the environment. Health and education under one roof CM Yadav announced that the state government has merged the Health and Education ministries to improve coordination and save costs. He mentioned a student loan scheme to help bright students who get admission to costly private colleges. The program covers 20 private institutions so that talented students do not face financial hurdles. Kashmir experience in Bhopal To boost tourism, the government launched 20 wooden ‘Shikara’ boats at Bhopal’s Bada Talab. Inspired by Kashmir’s Dal Lake, these boats offer food and comfortable seating so visitors can enjoy “Kashmir in Bhopal” while keeping the lake clean and safe. Film subsidies to boost local jobs The Chief Minister said the state’s new film policy offers subsidies of up to ₹2 crore. He added that film shoots create jobs for local hotel owners, transport providers, and vendors, helping the local economy grow. Textile park to create jobs Mohan Yadav said that the PM MITRA Mega Textile Park in Dhar will revive the cotton and garment industry. The project is expected to create over 3 lakh jobs and support farmers who grow organic cotton. Rising investor confidence Yadav said projects worth ₹30 lakh crore were proposed at the Global Investors Summit, with 30% already in progress. He said this shows that investor confidence in Madhya Pradesh is growing quickly. He called the launch of the Bhopal Metro a major urban milestone and said cities like Gwalior and Jabalpur will also see metro rail projects in the coming years.
