The situation in Sehore’s Ashta, deteriorated on Sunday night following a clash between two communities, after which Karni Sena workers blocked the Bhopal–Indore highway. The police had to resort to tear gas shells to control the situation. Around 9 PM, a disagreement near Alipur Chowk on the old Bhopal–Indore route quickly escalated into violence. Both sides faced off in front of the rest house near Parvati Bridge. During the stone-pelting, several stationary and passing vehicles were damaged, creating panic in the area. SDOP Akash Sambhalkar and SDM Nitin Kumar Tale reached the spot and managed the situation. Police deployment has been increased in sensitive areas, and monitoring is ongoing.
