The situation in Sehore’s Ashta, deteriorated on Sunday night following a clash between two communities, after which Karni Sena workers blocked the Bhopal–Indore highway. The police had to resort to tear gas shells to control the situation. Around 9 PM, a disagreement near Alipur Chowk on the old Bhopal–Indore route quickly escalated into violence. Both sides faced off in front of the rest house near Parvati Bridge. During the stone-pelting, several stationary and passing vehicles were damaged, creating panic in the area. Tear gas shells were fired, and mild force was used to disperse the crowd. Considering the seriousness of the situation, additional police forces from other district stations were called in.
