Hawk Force Inspector Ashish Sharma was killed in an encounter with Naxals in Madhya Pradesh. A joint operation was carried out by police from Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh. His funeral will be held in his native village in Narsinghpur, with full state honours. Tribute march in Balaghat A tribute march for Inspector Sharma was held in Balaghat on Thursday morning. Family members wept uncontrollably during the procession. People from the local community also joined to pay their respects. Journey to native village After the tribute march, the body was taken to Narsinghpur. Inspector Sharma will be cremated in his ancestral village, Bohani. His family will pay their final respects at home. The body will then be transported to the cremation site on a flower-decorated truck. State honours The cremation will be conducted with full state honours. Inspector Sharma’s family will receive the national flag in recognition of his sacrifice. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will attend the ceremony. Details of the encounter The encounter took place near Bor Talab, in the border area of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Chhattisgarh. The police received intelligence about Naxals hiding there. When the teams reached the spot, the Naxals opened fire. Inspector Ashish Sharma, who was leading the joint teams, was shot during the encounter. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead by doctors. After the march, the body was sent to Narsinghpur for the final rites.
