drug-smuggling-in-luxury-vehicles-surfaces-in-kaithal:police-say-supplies-come-from-mp-and-rajasthan-and-chances-of-raising-suspicion-remain-extremely-low

Drug smugglers in Kaithal district are now using expensive and luxury cars instead of old or small vehicles to avoid police checking. Police say this is not an isolated case. Several incidents have been reported where smugglers were caught using high-end cars like XUVs and Volkswagens. Many of these vehicles were also bought with money earned from drug sales. Most criminals bring drugs from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and then supply them to Patiala district in Punjab. They usually travel through the Guhla–Cheeka area of Kaithal. In many cases, the arrested smugglers are also residents of Patiala. They enter Punjab through the Guhla route in Kaithal. They put people on the vehicles Police believe that smugglers use these vehicles so that the police do not suspect them upon seeing large vehicles. Criminals have this mindset that if they carry drugs in large and luxury vehicles, the chances of checking will be less. Additionally, smugglers put logos of police and other officials on their vehicles so that no one stops them. Two Volkswagen cars have been seized On October 17, in Kaithal, police apprehended 4 accused who were smuggling drugs in 2 Volkswagen cars from Padla Road, Kaithal. The estimated value of the recovered drugs is around 30 lakh rupees. 2 individuals were going to Punjab with poppy husk in an XUV 500 car, one of whom escaped, while the other was apprehended. Sukhwinder alias Kala, a resident of village Marori, district Patiala, Punjab, was arrested from Under Bridge Khanouri Bypass, Kaithal. During the search, 296 kg 255 grams of poppy husk were recovered from 15 sacks kept in the vehicle. The vehicle used in drug trafficking was seized. This accused was also taking drugs to Patiala. All suspicious vehicles are being checked DSP Gurwinder Singh said that criminals have a mindset that the chances of checking will be less in big and luxury vehicles. Smugglers put logos of police and other officials on their vehicles so that no one stops them. Police are now dealing strictly with such people. All suspicious-looking vehicles are checked. As soon as such criminals are seen in any vehicle, they are immediately arrested.
