10-year-old-loses-both-kidneys-due-to-whitener-and-thinner-addiction:undergoes-daily-dialysis;-mother-says,-‘other-children-are-also-addicted’

In Indore, a 10-year-old boy’s kidneys have completely failed, not due to an accident, but from prolonged abuse of substances like whitener, thinner, and petrol over the past two years. The child’s mother says other children are also falling prey to such addictions. The boy was recently found unconscious on a roadside in Musakhedi and is now undergoing regular dialysis at MY Hospital. Hospital staff, volunteers from the Mahakal organization, and the mother are actively involved in his care. The case has revealed a shocking trend of substance abuse among children. The child had been addicted to substances like whitener, thinner, and petrol for the past two years, has lost both kidneys. He reportedly developed the habit with peers from his local area. The incident has sparked concerns over the sale and accessibility of such drugs in the region. Child’s addiction leads to kidney failure Addiction from tobacco to whitener Dr. Preeti Malpani, Superintendent of Chacha Nehru Children’s Hospital, stated – Certainly, drug abuse affects the kidneys and they get damaged. In this case, the family’s medical history is not yet known. Information is being gathered as to whether this disease is due to heredity, a pre-existing condition, or some other reason, but the child’s drug abuse is a matter of concern. MYH Deputy Superintendent Dr. Jitendra Verma said – Both of the child’s kidneys are damaged. Earlier, his creatinine and urea levels were very high. Hemoglobin was also very low, and there were other complications. Currently, he is undergoing regular dialysis. Regional Councilor Mahesh Baswal said – I have complained to the police many times about the drugs being sold in the area, this is a serious matter. The issue has been raised many times. Many children are in the grip of drugs. Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya has issued a warning On September 21 last year, Union Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya sharply warned police at an event near the Bhagirathpura police outpost in Indore to take immediate action against drug sellers and users. He gave a three-day ultimatum, saying officers must round up offenders, ‘no matter who they are’ and threatened strict measures if they failed. Vijayvargiya criticised officials for ignoring the problem, accusing them of allowing suspects to continue illegal activities and even ceremonially honoring them. He warned sternly that authorities would face consequences if they did not act within the given timeframe.
