A shocking case of negligence has surfaced in the Mid-Day Meal scheme in Vijaypur, Sheopur district. At Hullpur Secondary School, students were given food on old waste papers instead of proper plates. The incident, which poses serious health risks, came to light on November 4. After the matter was reported, the local administration immediately took action. Sheopur Collector Arpit Verma ordered an inquiry, and soon after, the Vijaypur SDM cancelled the contract of the self-help group responsible for the meal service. Action taken against these District Education Officer ML Garg has suspended Bhogiram Dhakad, in-charge of Hullpur Secondary School. This action has been taken for negligence and inhumanity in the distribution of mid-day meals. Notices have also been issued to BRC and CAC. Such behavior is completely unacceptable Collector Arpit Verma said that “Such behavior with children is completely unacceptable. Such inhumanity will not be tolerated at any level in the future.” He instructed all officials to regularly inspect the mid-day meal arrangements in all schools and Anganwadis across the district, ensuring that children receive clean, nutritious, and dignified meals.
