Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav honoured Indian women’s cricket team member Kranti Singh Goud, a World Cup winner, at a ceremony held at CM House, Bhopal. During the event, the CM draped a shawl over Kranti to felicitate her achievements. After the ceremony, Kranti will visit her home district, Chhatarpur, where a series of programmes are planned to celebrate her success. Warm welcome in Chhatarpur Kranti’s visit to Chhatarpur includes events at Krishna University, where students and sports enthusiasts will greet her. Later, she will go to Gulganj to visit the Chaupariya Government Temple. Around 4:30 pm, Kranti will reach her native village Ghuvara. A welcoming procession will be held, followed by a traditional tuladan ceremony. Kranti arrived at Bhopal Airport late Thursday night to begin her homecoming tour. Early cricket days Kranti Singh Goud studied up to Class 8. She loved playing cricket since childhood and often played matches with boys in her village. Later, she stayed with her aunt in Makronia and trained at a cricket academy in Sagar to improve her skills. Her journey in cricket has been full of challenges. Struggles and family background Kranti’s family lives in a small two-room government police quarter in her village Ghuvara, near the local police station. Her father, Munna Singh, worked as a Head Constable in the police department but has been suspended since 2011. The family owns neither land nor a house. In an interview, Kranti revealed that their financial situation was very weak. Many times, they struggled to afford food. Her elder brother Mayank worked in a construction company in Delhi to support the family. He also covered Kranti’s cricket kit and other expenses. To keep her cricket dream alive, Kranti’s mother Neelam even sold her jewellery to help fund her training. Inspiration for future athletes Kranti Singh Goud’s journey from a small village with limited resources to becoming a World Cup-winning cricketer is an inspiring story of dedication, resilience, and family support. Her return to Chhatarpur is being celebrated as a proud moment for the entire community.
