Land disputes in Guna, Madhya Pradesh, have turned deadly. Over the past two years, multiple clashes between communities and individuals have resulted in deaths, injuries, and property damage. Most cases involve disputes over forest, revenue, or private land. Recently, a farmer was crushed by a Thar vehicle in Fatehgarh, raising concerns about safety and law enforcement in the area. Farmer crushed by Thar over 6 bighas Date: 26 September 2025 Location: Ganeshpur village, Fatehgarh Farmer Ramswaroop Nagar was walking to his field with his wife Vinod Bai (38) and daughters Tanisha and Krishna (17). Around 10–15 people, including Mahendra, Jitendra, Kanhaiyalal, Lokesh, and Naveen, attacked the family over a longstanding land dispute. Ramswaroop fell to the ground, and a Thar vehicle ran over him, breaking his arms and legs. His wife and daughters were beaten, and villagers allege the attackers tore the girls’ clothes. Ramswaroop died around 8 PM during treatment. The dispute was over six bighas of land. The police have named 14 accused. The main suspect is BJP leader Mahendra Nagar, former Sarpanch and Kisan Morcha in-charge. The BJP expelled him, and police have arrested nine accused, including Mahendra. Forest land dispute: Man killed by arrow Date: 9 September 2025 Location: Chakri and Chhikari villages, Bamori A dispute between the Bhil and Bhilala communities over forest land escalated during a community panchayat. Around 300–400 people clashed with arrows and stones. Gangaram Bhil (55) was hit in the chest by a slingshot and died immediately. Police and officials arrived, but due to the tense situation, the body could not be removed at night. After 16 hours, the ambulance took Gangaram to Bamori Hospital. A case was filed against 16 named and unknown accused. More than a dozen arrests were made. Forest land dispute sparks fire and death Date: 26 November 2023 Location: Panheti village, Fatehgarh A fight between Bhil and Banjara communities over forest land left one person from each side injured. Gal Singh Bhilala of the Bhil community died during treatment in Indore. Following his death, villagers attacked the Banjara settlement, setting fire to 8–10 houses, two tractors, and stored maize. Victims spent the night outdoors in the cold. Police teams faced resistance, and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia visited the village. A dozen arrests were made. Government land dispute leads to stone pelting Date: 22 July 2023 Location: Vishnupura village, Fatehgarh Two parties clashed over government land near Farid Khan’s house. One accused grabbed a woman, threw her to the ground, and assaulted her. A video of the attack went viral. The next day, thousands of villagers, led by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal, surrounded the police station demanding action. A JCB was sent to demolish illegal constructions. Protesters climbed the machine and demanded the accused’s house be demolished too. When the JCB returned, villagers overturned a car and tried to set it on fire. Police fired tear gas and conducted a lathi charge to control the crowd. Over 50 vehicles were damaged. The situation was chaotic, with stones thrown from multiple directions.
