West Indies beat New Zealand by 7 wickets in the first T20I to take a 1-0 lead in the series. On Wednesday at Eden Park in Auckland, New Zealand chose to bowl. West Indies scored 164 runs losing 6 wickets. The Kiwi team could only score 157 runs losing 9 wickets. Captain Shai Hope’s fifty Batting first after losing the toss, West Indies lost Brandon King’s wicket in the very first over. King scored 3 runs. Alick Athanaze returned to the pavilion after scoring 16, and Akeem Auguste after scoring 2 runs. Captain Shai Hope then steadied the innings with Roston Chase. Hope scored a fifty and took the team close to 100. Hope was out after scoring 53 runs off 39 balls. Roston Chase then took the team to 150. Chase scored 28 runs. Finally, Rovman Powell scored 33 runs to take the team to 164 runs. Jason Holder remained not out with 5 runs and Romario Shepherd with 9 runs. Foulkes and Duffy took 2 wickets each
