Near Ujjain’s Mahakal Temple, Hindu Jagran Manch activists apprehended a 28-year-old woman from Haryana and a man from West Bengal at Nikki Palace Hotel on Wednesday night. The man was beaten during the commotion, and video footage of the incident has emerged. As per information, the activists acted after receiving information that a Muslim youth had brought the woman to Ujjain under the pretext of visiting Mahakal. The woman was registered as living in Mumbai, though she is actually from Panchkula, Haryana. Investigation revealed Jamal Islam stayed with woman Notably, investigation revealed that 38-year-old Jamal Islam, from North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, was also staying with the woman at the hotel. T he activists involved included Arjun Bhadauria (Provincial Executive Member), Ritesh Maheshwari (Coordinator), Kapil Kasera, Sanjay Vishwakarma, Kuldeep Lohar, Lakhan Gehlot, and others. Mahakal police were called to the scene as soon as the matter came to light. Young man beaten on the way According to sources, Hindu Jagran Manch workers questioned the young man. He claimed the young woman was his wife but could not show proof of marriage. While being taken to the police station, an argument broke out between the workers and the young man, after which some workers beat him up. Ritesh Maheshwari said that love jihad cases have come up before at Hotel Nikki Palace. The hotel management only takes the girl’s ID to give a room and only records her name in the register. Even after complaining many times, the hotel management is not making improvements. Police should take strict action on this.” Action will also be taken against hotel management Mahakal Police Station in-charge Gagan Badal said that police rescued both from the crowd and brought them to the station. During questioning, both claimed to be adults and married. The station in-charge said the hotel operator provided wrong information. Action will also be taken against him. Currently both are adults, but if they took the room by providing false information, action will be taken against them too.
