A 27-year-old woman from Bhind was allegedly held hostage and raped by a bus conductor inside an empty bus parked at the Gwalior Roadways bus stand. The incident happened around 9:30 PM on Monday. Police acted swiftly after the woman reported the crime and arrested the accused conductor before he could flee. Incident at Gwalior bus stand The assault took place inside a parked bus at the Gwalior Roadways stand around 9:30 PM. The victim later reached the Padav police station with the help of a First Response Vehicle (FRV). According to police, the accused, identified as Vishnu Ojha, works as a conductor and is a resident of Badarwas Sakharod. He was taken into custody shortly after the complaint was filed. Woman had travelled to Shivpuri earlier in the day The victim, a resident of the Phoop area in Bhind, had gone to Shivpuri Dehat police station earlier that day to find out about her husband. She told police that her marriage took place six years ago and that she has a two-year-old son. She said her husband had been harassing her for some time. A maintenance case is ongoing in the Bhind court, but her husband has not been appearing on hearing dates. Met the conductor during bus journey The woman said she met the accused while travelling from Gwalior to Shivpuri on Monday morning. During the journey, conductor Vishnu Ojha spoke to her and took her mobile number. He told her he would be returning from Guna in a few hours and could help her travel back to Gwalior comfortably. Lured back to the bus In the evening, Vishnu called the woman and asked her to come to the Shivpuri bus stand. He made her sit inside his bus, saying he would drop her back at Gwalior. Around 9 PM, the bus reached the Gwalior Roadways stand, and all passengers got off. The conductor told the woman to wait inside, saying he would return in ten minutes to take her to Bhind. Locked doors and assaulted her At about 9:30 PM, Vishnu returned, locked the bus from inside, and threatened to kill her. He then raped the woman and left her inside the bus before escaping. Police action and arrest After regaining composure, the woman immediately informed the police through Dial 112. The FRV team reached the spot, took her to Padav police station, and went back to the bus stand with her. The woman identified the bus, and police arrested Vishnu Ojha before he could run away. A medical examination was conducted, and a rape case has been registered based on her complaint.
